But, I think part of the decision to return to Washington and "address" this issue as a Senator, was in part to the comment last week that "the economy is fundamentally strong," Really? What a gaffe!<BR/><BR/>He needed to not have Obama mention that over and over and over again on Friday night.<BR/><BR/>McCain - rightly or wrongly - is going to be blamed for the economic woes. And, he needed to at least appear to be concerned enough to work on the solution. That incidently has already been worked out. There was absolutely no way Congress would do nothing before leaving for the Fall "Congressional District Work Period" a.k.a. Recess/Adjournment. But, before they did so, they were going to make a few tweaks (in my opinion, they made some good ones) and get some shots in on the Administration.<BR/><BR/>In the end, McCain looks silly, pathetic and incompetent.
